The Climate Bonds Standard and Certification Scheme is a labelling scheme for bonds and loans. Rigorous scientific criteria ensure that bonds and loans with Certification, are consistent with the 2 degrees Celsius warming limit in the Paris Agreement. The Scheme is used globally by bond issuers, governments, investors and the financial markets to prioritise investments which genuinely contribute to addressing climate change.

Sector Criteria Available for Certification

The Climate Bonds Sector Criteria are requirements that specify what assets and infrastructure can be financed with bonds / loans which have received Climate Bonds Certification. The Criteria are a subset of the Climate Bonds Taxonomy.

The requirements in the Criteria have been developed through rigorous processes with external experts, to align with the Paris Agreement and are outlined in the page on sector criteria.
